In the oil and gas industry, it serves as an effective foaming agent for gas well deliquification (foam drainage) and foam flooding for enhanced oil recovery, demonstrating excellent foam stability and salt resistance even under high-temperature, high-salinity, and oil-containing conditions. Its superior oil-tolerant properties make it particularly valuable in complex reservoir environments where conventional foaming agents often fail. In industrial manufacturing, it is applied in textile, printing and dyeing, plastics, papermaking, and leather processing, where it functions as a penetrant, antistatic agent, flame retardant, emulsifier, fat-liquoring agent, defoamer, and calcium soap dispersant. In the leather industry specifically, it imparts superior softness to finished leather goods. Additionally, C12-PB is incorporated into daily chemical products such as detergents and cosmetics due to its amphoteric nature, low irritation, excellent foaming performance, and good compatibility with other surfactants, and it can also be utilized in composite gas hydrate accelerators to facilitate natural gas extraction.
