>> Product Introduce
Didecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) is a twin-chain quaternary ammonium compound supplied as an 80 % active aqueous/alcoholic solution. The two C10 alkyl chains give it strong affinity for both bacterial membranes and negatively charged surfaces, so it works as a broad-spectrum biocide and a cationic surfactant at the same time. It is stable over pH 5–8, tolerates hard water, and is compatible with nonionic and cationic surfactants. It is not compatible with soaps and other anionic surfactants, and should not be formulated with them.
>> Main Uses
Biocide — bactericide, yeasticide and algicide for disinfection and preservation; virucidal performance depends on formulation and test standard (e.g. EN 1276, EN 14476).
Disinfection — hospital surfaces and non-invasive equipment, food and beverage processing facilities, livestock housing, swimming pools and spa water.
Water treatment — biofilm and slime control in cooling towers, recirculating systems and oilfield injection water.
Surfactant — antistatic agent, emulsifier, fabric softener base, phase-transfer catalyst
